How the English language has influenced the media and the world

English is the most spoken language in the whole world, but is this a reason for the majority of good movies being in English or being filmed or related to the United States? It might be debatable if this reason is the only one. A big blame is that The United States of America is the world most powerful country and they are practically involved in everything. This might be the best reason why English language is spoken on every country and it is taught on foreign schools to little kids; even other countries’ economies are based on the US Dollar like Mexico or Canada.

For starters, English is a pretty understandable language and is easy to learn, also the world most powerful country is English their official language, this is the main reason why English has become a global language. So for example, us Mexicans prefer to see a movie in English with subtitles on Spanish or even sometimes in English, maybe because if you don’t hear the movie in its original language the translation of the movie could be really bad and might be annoying for the people watching it, or also because we believe we can understand the whole movie in its original language. The world most popular movies are based on an American story, for example, Forest Gump: the story of a man who goes to war at Vietnam, I can assure their could be a better story in Vietnam than the one of Forest Gump, But all the propaganda, the gossip, even if people hate or love them, they are constantly following United States living (Hollywood) and so the culture is involved as the English language.  Even on countries where English isn’t the native language the most heard songs are in English and even though the native artists don’t sing on their native language they sing in English because it is a better way to gain an audience because of everybody on the world does, and so Americans, in this case on music taste with garbage-music like Iggy Azelea and Nicki Minaj or even senseless rap music could be seen as the best music in the world which at an end is pure marketing and a pure demonstration of how might a language may be distort but they are gaining audience, and touching people on many places, and with this the spread of English.

The world economy is based practically in the US dollar, with time maybe China will take over but today everything is related with the US, the majority of wars are created by this guys and their quest for oil, because it is known to be the most important thing in the world. Also the power that the United States demonstrates around the world is the main entry to the English be leading over other languages and because this language is spoken by many people around the world many movies and songs are written or spoken using this language to be able to compete on a bigger market, the movies or songs don’t have to be great but they can be heard and understood everywhere around the world which leads to gain a great profit for the producers and artists.

People around the world quite often expect the best result from China products, but why do people always expect the best form American ones? People might believe that they because it is a leading country with a global language, they also had the best materials, the best producers, so as a result the best products, and that’s all a great potency can make, have great resources to create better things, which helps the world to be a better place.

Also the English language is involved on social network like Facebook and Twitter. What benefits the language is that with these resources, helps prevent mistake from writing, it also differentiates writers, the networks shows us the value of short storytelling, which makes people be involved in other people, even cultures, reminds us that there will always be another new thing, for example technology, you can now connect to other places with just a click and with this, implicates that English language which is the language more used on the network be spread and always evolving, Technology is a healthy part of that evolution. But the bad thing is that people write new words, meaning, or distort the old ones, to communicate easily, using neologisms (mainly in English) have originated through social media.

In conclusion the English language is involved in all the media, including the most popular TV shows seen around the world, the most visited and used networks are in English language too, it involved in many other things, like movies, TV-series, also products and brands; we enjoy all the American market because even that we are neighbors (Mexico-USA) it is very popular in all the world, it has become a global market so extensive. Many things are created in English to be able to reach more audience and to try to get the message of the film or what it is announced across the world. English being a global language facilitates the communication, it will diminish the barriers with time and the news, cultures and the reaching of people will be easier and faster. The Internet has revolutionized the ways of human communication as well as English language learning in a global context. Learners of English language today need a new set knowledge and skills.
